Welcome to Colorado Investigation and Security Services, Training Division.  We are a small company based in Colorado Springs with a distinct difference in how we operate.  At Colorado Investigation and Security Services we believe that there is no substitute for effective training and practical experience.

We are pleased to announce that Colorado Investigation and Security Services, Training Division is now offering Firearms Training that meets the requirements of Colorado Springs City Ordinance 08-64, Dangerous Weapons and Substances, to allow Security Officers to carry automatic handguns.

Our firearms training staff is certified by the National Rifle Association, Law Enforcement Activities Division (LEAD) and the Civilian Marksmanship Division for handgun instruction.  The course length is two days, 16 hours (Day 1 - 9 Hours, Day 2 - 7 hours).

Automatic Handgun Training and Certification for Security Officers*
includes the following:

  •  Criminal procedures law
  •  Moral and legal aspects of firearm use
  •  Use of physical and deadly force
  •  State and local laws, codes and ordinances relating to weapons and the use of force
  •  Handgun safety, nomenclature, operation and maintenance
  •  Emergency procedures
  •  Weapons handling
  •  Marksmanship fundamentals
  •  Range instruction, qualification and examination

*Meets the requirements of Colorado Springs City Ordinance 08-64, effective 6/5/08
